As a Software Developer with Dorset Software you will focus on the systems side of the business, developing software for a wide range of clients across a variety of market sectors. From web applications to client/server systems, from Intranets to database applications and from data migration to systems integration, our Software Developers gain experience in a huge range of technologies and software solutions.

The first 4 months will be spent at our headquarters in Poole, where you will complete an initial training programme designed to give you an excellent grounding in the major development tools and technologies.

Emerging from this period as a fully-fledged Software Developer you will spend the next 3-5 years based at client sites around the country (or occasionally on in-house projects). We currently have Developers at Barclays Bank, Research Machines and Clarks plus a whole host of other blue-chip clients.  Although in the first 5 years some 75-80% of your time will be spent away from head office, you will be well looked after, with travel, accommodation and living expenses all organised and paid for by us.

A career as a Software Developer is challenging and rewarding. You'll learn how to harness development tools and technologies and the satisfaction will come through getting to know our clients, understanding their requirements and creating technical solutions that fulfil their needs and push boundaries. By working with a variety of clients you will be exposed to different approaches, different cultures and will become proficient in solving technical problems of all types and sizes.

Whilst many of our Software Developers go on to become Junior Team Leaders or Senior Developers, your career path is flexible and could also take you into Account Management, Systems Administration or Testing.

If you meet our minimum academic requirements, you're analytical, passionate about technology and committed to a career in software development, we'd love to hear from you.  Simply follow our application process and we'll do the rest.

In return we offer a salary package up to £25,000 per annum.
