Dorset Software launches new website

18 January 2007

Dorset Software has launched a new website with a fresher, clearer and more informative approach to enable customers to gain a better insight into the company's capabilities.

The new website has been developed internally using the latest standards including valid XHTML and CSS to comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The site is currently WCAG AA Compliant, conforming to all priority 1 and 2 guidelines.

The Website Content Accessibility Guidelines are part of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). W3C develops interoperable technologies (specifications, guidelines, software, and tools) to lead the Web to its full potential as a forum for information, commerce, communication, and collective understanding.

With the BBC recently (5th December 2006) reporting that 97% of websites "are failing to provide the most basic accessibility standards for people with disabilities", Dorset Software has ensured that its website achieves the preferred level of compliance so all visitors have an informative and valid experience. Dorset Software can also help clients ensure that their websites achieve compliance.
