Tailor-made Training Courses

Dorset Software offers two types of training: training courses and training workshops. Each can be tailor made to suit your particular organisation, your delegates' knowledge of Windows applications and their experience of Recorder.

Training Courses

Training courses can either be held at the location of your choice, or at our premises in Poole. Based on a group size of around 8 people, our experienced instructor teaches topics agreed prior to the training course, with learning reinforced by hands-on exercises.

Our Basic Training Course, for example, is designed to familiarise delegates with the Recorder software and give them the confidence to use it in surveys. It is aimed at new-to-product survey recorders, as well as recorders familiar with Recorder. No previous experience in biological recording software is required.

Although the course structure is flexible, it has the following core aims:

· to familiarise delegates with the features of Recorder
· to ensure that delegates can make full use of tools and features built into Recorder, maximising its performance
· to provide delegates with a chance to ask questions and receive immediate answers to their queries

On completion of the course, delegates will be able to create survey records, customise recording cards, optimise data entry, build customised reports and import and export data.

Advanced courses are also available.

Training Workshops

Training workshops are held at our premises in Poole and are suitable for up to three delegates at a time. In this small discussion group our instructor covers the topics of your choice and assists you in building your organisation's best strategy for implementing Recorder.
